My name is Pamm Shipsky. In the summer of 2003 I spent two months in Zambia working in Ebenezer Orphanage. I was 19 years old at the time, and this trip was the first time I had traveled alone internationally and the first time I had been to Africa. The family that runs the orphanage, the Chamas, took wonderful care of me. I lived with them in their home and then everyday communted back and forth to the orphanage. While I was at the orphanage I played with the kids and spent about an hour everyday teaching school lessons in a variety of subjects. While I was there I got to experience Zambian culture by living with the Chamas. I also got to travel to Victoria Falls and went on a Safari. Working in the orphanage was an amazing experience, and I plan to go back. The Chamas were wonderful and they really are like my African family.

God Bless!

I am a Canadian, living in the Los Angeles, California area, and I work as a public school teacher. I am 43 years old. In August 2003 I had a strong burning desire to go to Africa, and I felt God was calling me to help in some way. I found out about this orphanage on the internet.

I had a joyous time working with the children and I learned a great deal from them. They are very spiritually devout, polite, intelligent, and affectionate. Each day was a new adventure and it was hard to say goodbye.
